    $1.00 Ingot Mold

I had to go into the Dollar Store with my wife. I usually find nothing to buy in the store but I noticed something that might be of interest to Casters. The store had a steel six place muffin pan for $1.00. The pan was fairly heavy metal and was stamped out.
I have an old muffin pan that has inserts for the muffins and one or two has come out of the pan. This one would make a good ingot mold especially if you let it rust.

Nice -- a one piece steel muffin tin is just the ticket; I have one with inserts that's holding well (so far), for "jumbo" muffins. Fill the cups 2/3 full and I get a three pound ingot; nice handy size.

Good timing since I was planning on buying another mold. I have some range scrap to smelt, but only one ingot mold, and it's pretty slow going when you have to wait 3-4 min for it to cool down enough to dump out the ingot.

I have my eye on a pair of stamped muffin pans that are in the kitchen at the moment. My wife isn't buying the idea of getting her new ones... lol

I buy muffin tins out of aluminum at yard sales for $.25 to $.50 and they seem to work the best for me. I had some steel ones and the lead would stick. I destroyed on muffin pan getting them out.

Correction The store was Dollar Tree not Dollar Store. Jakemo , if you let those muffin pans rust the ingots will fall out.
