Here is a group from some of my load development last week.

25.0-25.5 of H335 seemed to show a bit of potential with these 6s bullets. I inked in the bullet holes from the 25.5 grain load. Fairly tight cluster of 6 shots there.

and here is a group shot the next day from dirty cold barrel with a 27.5 (max Sierra load listing) of H-335

I think it is only going to get better as many of us get a chance to find that magic load and spend a bit more time behind the trigger

i'll guarantee they will get better.
i have shown groups at the start of the 22 swaging interest from a swage set that isn't near as good as brians.
those groups took some serious refinement in the swaging techniques and in load effort.
they will shoot as well as any storebought bullets if you do your part on both ends.
as the process is refined and communicated everybody will benefit.

Brian, don't know if you want any suggestions for loading or not, but here's my 2 cents. Over the years of shooting CMP Highpower matches, I have seen the best and most consistent accuracy from the .223/5.56 when firing 52 to 55 grain bullets has been with either Varget or AA2520.

I don't usually provide specifics, but this is on the lower end of the pressure spectrum. For ranges up to 200 to 300 yards while punching paper, my magic load has been Winchester commercial .223 brass, WSR primer, 24.5 grains Varget, 52 to 55 grain bullet, 2.250" OAL, no crimp on the bullet. The Winchester brass is important. I have tried this load in other brass with less than satisfactory results. Mostly I have used Hornady and Winchester 55 grain FMJ-BT.

There is something about this load that works in every gun I have tried. I don't know if it has to do with the pressure curve, or maybe the harmonics it sets up in the barrel. Might be something to try during your load development.

Glad to see others using AA2520. I have settled on it as my accuracy powder for the 223 w/ 55-69gr bullets. Now if I could just get my dies, I could play too?

Got the 40 cal one step die all put together and ready to ship to the winner of the drawing.

I numbered the target entries in post number 142 and I'll edit post # 2 to match. I'll hold the drawing this week and video record the winning # drawn.

The targets all made it to teh scorer last week and I will contact him this week to see about the results. Then the winners can choise their award from the donated prices availble. Left over prizes will carry over to the current postal shoot now in progress.

I just checked out the site http://www.random.org/ and it looks perfect for our drawing of the BTSniper 40 cal one step die.

I'll hold the drawing on Thursday the 28th (last day of the month), I'll video it as well as take a pick and post it here.

The random pic generator looks like this (this is an example only!)

In our first postal shoot we had 9 entries. So I entered the min # of 1 and max # of 9 and it generates a random pic. I have tested it and found it to be reliable.

For those that sent entries your # can be found next to your target on post #142

Thank you for all that participated. I hope we get more as the weather improves.

Am I the only one still up awaiting this?

Here is the video of the winning number! Numbers are assigned to the targets submited and pictured in post # 142 of this thread.

Click the pic for the video.

I'll contact the lucky winner soon.

I also expect the results from our scorer back soon. I'll be able to anounce the winners to allow you guys to choose your prize. Sorry it is taking me a little while to post these results, amazing how busy I am latly.

Look forward to seeing more targets from you all on current shoot.

I liked the random generator site. Don't fret! I have a pretty good idea who won the smallest group

Be sure to send me another target for the current postal shoot, I'll give away another 40 cal die. Not quite sure the exact end date for the current shoot yet, might be some time in May.

I got to the range this past Monday for the first time in a while. Now that the dust has settled, I plan to load up the 22LR bullets Brian sent and send in a target. My expectations are low but it will be good to send in a target.

I'm having "issues" playing the video for the selection for the drawing of the prize. What number was drawn?

    Thanks
