    I've used it a bit.
It's accurate enough for the job at hand, as long as you're consistent.

Just keep in mind that the farther you zoom in, the more precise the 'hole' placement will be.

Edit: BTSniper, I sent you a PM yesterday, about those bullets.

Ah yes I found it. I'll be happy to get some 6mm bullets your way as soon as I make some. I need to send in my die to be heat treated first. I imagine it will be into january before I have any to send to you. Might be last minute but should be plenty of time to get some on paper before this first shoot's deadline. I'll have pics of the new bullet soon. I wouldn't hesatate to try and track down some more 6mm bullets for the shoot if some one was offering. I'll come threw if need be but like I said it will take me a little while.

Good to hear the program will work. Not perfect but should be as good if not better then one attempting to measure a group with a set of calipers.

Cool! We are starting to see some targets! Thanks for posting it. Should really get the ball rolling. Don't forget to print out the offical target for this shoot when your ready to start shooting for scores.

I'll have some pics of the prizes to post soon as well as a list of those who are particiapating.

Target can be downloaded and printed out from this link

    Good shooting and swage on!

    YEP! Lets GO!

Tenitive Deadline Is Feburary 1st 2013

Target has been choosen with posted link and pics in post #23.

I have decided I am unelegable to be the offical score keeper do to the fact shooters may and certainly in the future be using my dies.

I am looking for netural volenteers to score the tragets for the postal shoot. Actually go tone lined up. Do feel free to put your name in the hat as well if any one wants to be a score keeper for these matches.

    Shoot is still on!

    Good shooting and Swage On!

No rush, nothing is in stone. I figure 2 months is a good time frame. There will be a few kinks to work out obviously. The biggest challenge is just getting the word out.

    As posted in post #1

Deadline How about Feburary 1st 2013 for this first shoot? With hopfully more to follow every two months or sooner depending on interest.

Start time Shooters are ellegable to join in at any time up to the deadline so long as they get targets post marked by deadline date.

I suppose I should reword it to be a bit more precise.

    BT

p.s. as far as a sticky????? I certainly hope this thread will generate info in quality worthy of a sticky. So in mean time how about I use post #2 in this thread for all updates and data needed?

Just reading here and I would hope that if you are in fact giving away a 40 cal die of yours I could at least contribute a cash donation to that. Unfortunately no where near the actual cost but perhaps something. Time for making these projectiles for myself almost seems scarce enough let alone some to donate.

No cash donations necessary. Nothing at all is required. If you guys feel the need to contribute somthing please post a few pics of your progress, bullets, targets or gun. If that is not enough and those of you wish to contribute more please feel free to make a contrabution to this great sight.

I am happy to donate (for drawing) one of my improved CH 40 cal dies. I have a few.

YES! THAT MEANS I WILL BE GIVING AWAY ONE OF MY CH 40 CAL ONE STEP DIES TO THE LUCKY WINNER OF A DRAWING!

Here is a pick of the die and teh bullet it makes

Drawing will be held by someone other then myself. I'll be looking to Bullshop to conduct the drawing if he is availaible. A simple pick your number out of a hat or something similar. You can find out what your # is from the list I am putting together in post #2 of this thread.

Ok, I must have not paid attention to the first post dates or it was edited, any who my bad thanks guys for posting and surprising me.
As far your sticky status I am glad you have more than you want...just was refering to the the cast boolit pics competition sticky page that no one else can comment on maybe its the whole forum, I figured it would make it much easeier for folks to have a one stop look to see what and where they would be at as far as scores placement and shooting dates etc...I agree to keep conversation on this thread but its gonna get thick real quick if you keep everything on this thread..Im in on this shoot no matter what but I was already lost at when this thing started so you can take that for what its worth, I am just trying to make this as smooth as possible...Ps I am willing to make a donation and I think we should try to make this a habit but not required as BT I'm sure you shold not have to afford giving up your products but if we all can give a little when we can and he can offer more that is awesome for everyone... and I'm sure it would help Cast Boolits in the name of swaging.

p.s. as far as a sticky????? well I Ihate to get to many stickys and my hopes is that this thread will be long running with a welth of info and load data that if enough people post good data it may just become a sticky on it's own. So in mean time how about I use post #2 in this thread for all updates and data needed?

I have updated post #2 to include a list of all those that showed interest in participating in this shoot. This list by no means represents any obligation on those mentioned to particapate if they should so chose. I included space behind your name to include your stats if you so wish to list them, such as gun, caliber, bullet weight, ogive S#, die manufacturer, etc. simply Pm me and I'll add them on.

This post also includes the list of all prizes to be awarded either via drawing or for winners of the various scorable combinations listed for this shoot. All those that particapate and send in an honest effort target are eligable for the drawing.

    Thanks

    Ben,

bare with me, I'll get it all ironed out. Your imput as well as others will help me to streamline the process of getting this shoot of the ground as smoothly as possible and with a little luck many more to come. Thanks for your help. I'll continue to up date the first two posts of this thread as I get more info and ideas to make things more streamlined.

As far as stiky statis, I didn't mean to say that "me personaly" hates to have too may stickys. I would be thrilled if this thread got enough attention and valualble information worthy to become a sticky. Looking back at what I posted in that previous post I can see how it could be taken that way. I'll edit it I simply ment that in my opinion somtimes it feels like it can be a distraction to a forum to have to many stickys "in general" no matter who started the thread. I'm sure we have all been to a sight with forums where you would have to scroll down threw a page or more of stickys before we get to the latest threads.

Yes I agree, this thread has the "potetnial" to be a good one for sticky staits, hopfully it will prove true and I'm sure at that point we will have no problem recomending it. We are fortunate to have such a great sight here with all sorts of threads that probably deserve to be stickys. If this thread becomes worthy with all the potential great info it may have to offer then....... we shall see. I certainly hope so

I did update post #1 of this thread to show official start and deadline dates thanks to your imput. If things go smoothly and we get continued interest I'll have no problem making it an "every other month" (bimonthly) event to included many differrnt gun/bullet/caliber combinations. We can have all sorts of fun with it.

Don't worry about me. I have drawers full of dies ready to donate if need be. Of course I have a long list of orders to fill too

I think we got some good interest here. I certainly think, and hope, future shoots will have even more potetnial.

    Good shooting and Swage On!

    heck of an idea!!

I'm up for any suggestions and ideas for "future" shoots. Please everyone feel free to join in with any ideas you might have. Yes a bit early to get to crazy and we will start things off much much simpler but I like the potential in this thinking. We could do somthing a bit different every shoot if we wanted to.

Wouldn't that make you want to shoot the next season that much more???
All I know is the end of trap shoots make me want to shoot as soon as I can...
Any chance Lewis score can be used instead of a random pick, Lewis is still random but still gives most good shooters a chance to score a win as well as it gives an idea of the other good shooters that competed

Unfornatly I live in a town with no "real" shooting range within an hours drive. So my competive shooting background is very limited. You will have to school me on what "lewis score is"?

To all those interested don't worry, I am keeping this first shoot, and possibly severial more afterwords very simple! It is fun to think ahead though.

On that thought I got a prediction for this first shoot. I bet we will see some "combined" (tally of the two groups and the one shot's distance from center bulls eye) total scores under 1 inch. Certainly two 5 shot groups of .5" or less and a skilled (or luck) dead on center punch is possible.

If such a event was to take place I would think the team bracket idea would be interesting but we would not be waiting 2 months inbetween matches. Yes it would have to be a lot faster/sooner. I would expect the entire bracket with the finals to be completed within two months time or less.
