    Of the bolt 30-30's I would love to have a 788 would be first then a win 54. Enjoy your 788 rich!

    I put the elevator from my Rossi 92's rear sight and the forend screws for the standard forend on my Encore is a safe place, realllllllllllllllllllll safe, haven't been able to find them since.     I've had that problem in the past myself. These are in the gun safe, pretty sure I'll remember that. Normally, I wouldn't really care, but there are some collectors out there who are crazy for 788s lately it seems and I'd like to be able to return it to original condition if need be.

    Evey 788 I ever had (four if you includeone that was heavily customized) was a good shooter, but the initial results lead me to believe this will be better than normal. My 6mm one is spooky accurate, but I haven't tried cast in it yet.
