Thought I would share some data.

Got a new chrono today. Had to test it out.

    With my long slide.

The shallow hp did more than expected. The*load I shotshot the deer with avg 1390. That was 100 fps than I thought it was going. Remember I downloaded it to stop the skidding. The original load that was skidding clocked at 1510. That was the 190 gr Oreo sent me. Soft lead.

My plunking load 200 gr shallow hp clocked at 1260.

My 180 xtp with 9.2 longshot were right at 1400.

I am going to work up a load this week with my harder alloy and 800 x that I think will be around 1450 to 1500
I will post up results then.

The 1260/200 load is 8.2 longshot.

    The 190/ 1390 load is 9.1 800x.

The full house 190 that I started with was I believe 10.2 800x. I would have to check my notes on it.

Oh another load I have to test is the one I used for bear hunting. It was a lee 175 tc mold that dropped and lived at 182. I worked it up to 11 gr 800x. No pressure signs. And was one of the most accurate loads I have ever shot. I expect that one to be well over 1500 and closer to 1600.

I have I think a doz of those left over. It's one of those loads that u really know u are shooting something else. It has a whole different sound to it.

Yeah that is what I thought when I read the chrono.

Honestly I think the 190 gr is the perfect weight for the 10mm. I think its the most efficient weight.

I need to calc some ft lbs of these loads. They are some serious power.

961 ft lbs. That is impressive. If only I could top 1000 ft lbs.

Were there any pressure signs? Maybe 1000ft lbs can be had with new brass even if it takes a little primer flow to make it happen.

I was using new brass. No signs of danger. Could push harder. But do I really need to? Lol.

The 182 gr one might hit 1000 if its going as fast as I think it is.

I have speed envy!! It will be interesting to see if Ctious and I notice any difference in killing results between his 1500fps loads and my 1150fps loads.

I don't think there will be much. As long as the alloy is made to match the speed it should be good. My 80/20 makes sense now being my speeds are smoking.

You know, your results also speak well for the lack of a gas check both on this boolit and on the lighter one I'm drawing.

(Literally sitting at the computer drawing the 160/135hp right now.)

Gas checks are not needed. Well at least in these. A 160 may be a different story. Much faster. I may have yo get the lighter mold also. Maybe.

Shot some other loads today. I had some 180 gr xtp loaded with 10.4 800x. Wow. Out of my 6in 1470 avg. Smoking round.

Also shot a opossum today. With the deep hp at 1250. Wow. Blew up. The hp section blew like a ballistic tip. The base blew through and was way into the snow and ice. I think the deep hp would make a great self defense bullet or small game bullet. I would not use it on big game.

Oh another load that I was overly impressed with. 9.2gr 800x with a 200 gr xtp. The string shot 1239, 1239, 1241, 1238, 1240. Very tight. Also this round is a tack driver.

Is amazes me how much faster cast is over jacketed in the same weight.

Decided to work up a target load with the 200 solid version. I used HS6 6.5 grains non magnum primers and range scrap. I have to load at 1.250 to work in my 1911 magazines. I do have a custom expander plug in my Lee dies that 40Super made me and it worked perfectly, hardly any flaring needed at all. 1st 25 round went well leading if there was any disappeared with one patch of Hoppes #9 and no brush used. Accuracy is better than I can hold at 25 yards and shot to the sights. The gun has a 22lb recoil spring and a 21lb mainspring. I'll shoot another 50 next week and run a chrono test. But so far this is the first target load I've been able to get to shoot to the sights.

Thanks! It makes it easier for everyone that way especially with the long wait times if all the info is readily available.
