Im just stuck on what to do with the finish of the cannon, was thinking leave it natural, paint it black or get it nickel plated. What do u think?

That thing looks awesome the way it is, looks like stainless? If it is, I'd leave it as is.

That would be my choice. Or get one of the barrel browning kits for muzzle loaders to get a head start.

For the projectiles this minature deck gun will fire. Will it be a golf ball thrower or lead or zinc round balls? Give us a hint on the barrel cost. Nice looking project. Robert

With a 1" bore it won't be golf balls. Not sure if there's any off-the-shelf option for projectiles. Maybe pinballs?

I'm getting a mold to make 1" lead/zinc balls, for now I have 1" steel balls and also just firing it without any projectiles for noise. The cost is listed for $600 on the builders web site

Mounted on a rail gimbal, that thing would be just right for pirates.

I too would leave finish as is and let it age gracefully.

Somebody on the board was selling 1" round ball molds. I can't remember who.

    Edit:
This is not who I was thinking of, but I believe that this company is still in business - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cannon-Ball-...item3f1cf91cbd

    Edit 2:
Post 5 on this thread looks promising - http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...ghlight=cannon
