    Anyone shooting SGBs?

I shot CCI SGB ammo about 15+ years ago and thought that they'd stop making them, but I was at a local gun shop and there they were. The semi-wadcutter design really hits hard and there seems to be more bearing surface on the lands & grooves with that design as they're very accurate.

I sighted my Savage 93 in with them at was getting 1 hole groups at 35 yards. After some range time, my brother and I went squirrel hunting to try our luck and sure enough, I got a nice head shot on a good fox squirrel. He actually did a spin out of the tree when he was hit.

Anyone else still shooting the Small Game Bullet from CCI?

    Thank you, Bowhunter57

Thanks for the heads up! I have been hoarding the last few rounds I have because I haven't seen it for sale in a decade or so. It is the single most accurate round in my Marlin bolt with mini-mags a decent second choice. I also have found their terminal effectiveness to be excellent. I just hope they are really the same. If so I'm going to buy a brick asap.

"Googled" CCI Small Game Bullet, found quite a few vendors listing them.

yes! they are great, they hit like a Mack truck!

Also, I personally believe they are the best self-defense round out there if you are forced to carry a .22 for a carry weapon.

Haven't shot them in years. I guess they are back and I'll have to find some.

While I'm glad they're being made again, I still have a few hundred left from the 5K I bought when I heard they were being discontinued, years ago.

Since I'm now 70, I don't think I'll be needing all that many more.........................

These shoot very well in my TC Carbine. You can hear the smack when they hit something.
I like the idea of using them as a self defense round.

I bought some over 10 years back. Was told then they were being discontinued. They are a great round. They are accurate and hit with authority. The shop I got them from in MS said the SGB stood for "Some Good Bullet". They are good. I will have to look for more. That and the CCI Blazer and you have 2 winners.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.

I shoot them regularly in my hunting rifles, very consistent accuracy. Do have extraction issues in after market barrels with tight chambers where the bullet engraves the rifling lead.
