Hi,
If using Alox, does it matter what your lead composition is?
Thanks,
C.

No more so than with any other lube you could use.

If you are shooting 45acp, mixing lead with WW will work. 1/1, 2/1 or even 3/1, lead / WW. Shooting range lead should also work, even though it can vary as far as what the alloy is. The lube doesn't change any of that.
If you are shooting a caliber that requires something harder (40 for example) to help feed or a hot magnum load that's different. In general, softer is better than harder in handguns. At least the ones that I have experience with.
Okay, shooting .45 ACP.
Thanks,
C.
i think with alox and especially with the lee t/l molds it matters more.
the alox absolutly relies on the boolit obdurating the bbl, otherwise it's too easy for the lube to fail as a sealant.
shooting boolits is like real estate but instead of "location, location, location" it's "fit, fit, fit".

I think this is true with either style bullets.
The best way I know of to demonstrate leading is to load up some .38 specials with .356 bullets lubricated with Alox.
To your obturating comment, the same bullet will lead LESS in the .357 with moderately hot loads.
( In my experience ) I expect different people with different guns and components will get different results.
