I see, and thanks. Just to update you, I am building a bolt rifle for my own use. I have a set of headspace gauges and a reamer for 300/221 and just need a barrel to show up at my door. I just set up a Remington 700 300 BLK for a friend and have his rifle available. If someone will send me some cast bullets I will seat some in cases and push them into the throat of the rifle and submit them for testing....

Here's my two cents..... Like anyone asked for it...

220-225 grain, plain base, cramer hollowpoint option. It doesn't have to be a huge gaping hole HP just a small(ish) DEEP HP.

I don't know enough about the design parameters of a cast boolit to give any insight, but the profile of the 220 gr SMK loaded to 2.10-2.12 function in an AR mag without mods. I've loaded some 180 gr Nosler ballistic tips at 2.20 that don't interfere with the mag rib. The ogive has to be designed so that the bullet/boolit is the same diameter as a .223/5.56 round at the mag rib everyone has trouble with. JMHO and I'm sure you already know all that.

Let me know how empty case ejection and extraction goes. The super short case can be a pickle.

I hope this isn't a dead project. I know another vendor is gauging interest in about the same thing, no offense at all meant to him. But, I sure would like a MiHec cramer hollowpoint in brass like we started off talking about in this thread. ANY updates?? Is the idea dead, on the back burner????? The idea of a 300blk boolit of about 225+-gr with a hollowpoint that would allow it to expand sure does sound nice to me.

From what I've measured so far, the basic fit on the nose and bands are about it. No improvement there and the only thing we can do is change the shape of the base or radiused nose. As for a HP at subsonic, I'm not sure you would get any expansion even with a very soft alloy. The basic boolit is VERY long and a HP set-up in the Cramer would necessitate a very deep set of blocks. So, what do you guys want to do?

Is there a drawing available that we can see? I understand the H/P would necessitate long blocks, but nothing like that is available and results from those who have tried them subsonic on game report good success.
