    good idea

the other update I did to mine was replacing the pin with a shoulder bolt
wen it gets to good casting temp the pin kept falling out
I am very happy with the machine work lining up for all castings

    Doc.

Good morning, I have had a very good experience with Sharp shooters mold and was a pleasure to deal with Rich, a fine gentleman to work with!
I got the mold for .685" RB.

thanks for that one Shotman. I have 2 sharpshooter molds, and last weekend I fixed one of them by installing washers between the aluminum and wood as spacers. It holds the metal off the wood by a few milimeters and seemed to really help.

I think I'm going to try your solution on the other. That, and that gap between the handles in yours would let you easily open the mold. Mine likes to get stuck closed when the lead chills.
Too much of a good thing is an awesome thing!

Make the handle 8IN you will see why. The mold has a slight taper. and the 8in makes for a very conffy fit in your hand
the round handles make for very easy flip . I sent a pic to ric a while back but he has the wood set up so I guess its hard to change
