MiHec 8mm Karabiner 2 or 4 Cavity Brass Cramer

MiHec 8mm Karabiner 2 or 4 Cavity Brass Cramer
This was a GB from Lee a long time ago. This will be cut to the original specs, not what has appeared since then. This will be a two or four cavity cramer brass GCHP mold that is suitable for the 8mm caliber rifles cartridges. It will cast at 0.326". The weight was about 237 gr as a hollow point and 240 gr. as a solid ready to load dependent on your alloy. Several of use have shot this boolit for years and it does very well. It was designed to go in the 8x57mm with somewhat worn throats, but also fits in most newer throats.

We will need fifteen to commit to this. We will run this until we get the number we need or more.

Pin options include: 1) large round HP, 2) blank pin for solid

For the two cavity mold, the price is $90 with one set of HP pins included plus $8 for the extra blank (flat nose) pin set if wanted plus $15 shipping.

For the four cavity mold, the price is $120 with one set of HP pins included plus $16 for the extra blank (flat nose) pin set if wanted plus $20 shipping.

Edit: If the HP pins are not suitable for reversal to a solid, the blank pins come with the price of the mold. If you do not want the HP pin sticking out of the base of the mold, in the case of reversable pins, you can order a set of blank pins for a smooth mold bottom.

Please list your Forum name and your disguised e-mail address in suitable form..... the number of 2 or 4 cavity molds you want and if you want the blank pin option.

Bumped. Hoping we get a little more interest in this one. I'd hate to see this one die on the vine.

I've been trying to search for "8mm Karabiner vs. 8mm Maximum" to see what these two molds do better and worse than each other. I'm already in for a Maximum mold so I would like to know what the Karabiner does...?

The Karabiner is a shorter version (in the nose radius area) of the Maximum to provide a bigger meplat and somewhat less weight, otherwise they are basically the same.

I'd be interested in a 4 cav solid with this design, if it were an option. I'm curious if there are others who might join if that were possible.

The blank pin would give you a solid nose.

This is one of 10 "legacy" group buys with MP Molds. These buys are all at least nearly two years old and have shown no real indication of progress since their inception. The original honcho does not attend the forum any more and information from Miha on these buys ranges from scant to non-existent. At this point it seems fair to question whether or not these buys will ever be completed. In the case of this particular mould it is 3 years old and doesn't have anywhere close to the supposed requisite number of 15 orders to make it fly. It should probably be declared dead, if anyone is around who can make such a declaration.

This thread is now closed. Members have signed up in good faith and other members have stepped up to the plate to try and take this forward however Mihec has remained silent on whether or not these years old group buy will actually ever be delivered and if so a timescale for this. These moribund Mihec buys reflects badly on the forum and as he doesn't show any courtesy to our members and his customers involved in these buys the threads are now closed.

If Mihec contacts staff with a reliable time line for delivery that he will commit too then the thread will be opened again for business.
