anealing brass in a grill

can a propane grill get hot enough to anneal brass?
I want to anneal a bunch of 22 jackets, and one by one isn't so efficient.

not too sure about a bbq grill.
i use my smelting pot set-up, i
get the brass to 700-f flip it all over into the second pot and heat it up again to 725 then slide it off the fire.

Yes you can,
BT_sniper did it that way at one time using a stainless screen collander.
don't have them piled...just a single layer.

I know my grill gets plenty hot enough but I wouldn't contaminate the food equipment with the shooting stuff, just as a general rule.

I am with Oreo on this 22 casings contain lead from the primers . I have a $2 yard sale toaster oven that runs hot it gets the brass up to 650 degrees an hour of that does it for my use. That oven is never used for food and is marked not to use for food for safety.

Now if you found a old grill in the garbage or replace your old one that could be a good way to go.

Did it in an old out of service grill. Made 2 pans with short legs so they would sit right over the burners. I can anneal quite a few 40's at once this way. I leave them in there for an hour and they end up dead soft.
