Need help IDing this metal, please...

Hello, everyone. I need some help. I found this and others in a bucket of WW's. One has aluminum casing with lead inside, so I tried to chisel this one hoping to get through. However, I'm convinced it's likely to be solid. It has a gold tint to it on the inside. One of the rings had a fishing hook on it, and I'm almost positive it's intended for large catch (one of these is 32oz). Any help is appreciated.

It is probably Chrome Plated Brass!

It appears to be a section of Brass Hex Rod, usually used to make nuts and bolts, that has been cut on a biase and made into a large fishing lure. The chrome plating keeps it shiny. Plain brass is yellow, but would be brownish green in no time in salt water.
