well, I finally got my MVA sights and got them on my rifle,took it to the range to try some different loads in it at 200 yds most were M.O. chicken. a couple that get a 2nd try were 31 grains of N135 with a 210 lyman and 26.5 grains of H4198 with the same boolit. the 180 RCBS FN liked 26 grains ofRX7 and27 grains of 5744 so i'll load them up and try it again. after 100 shots today we all had fun with belly gun matches while waiting for the barrel to cool all in all a fun day at the range!
Sounds like fun. I have a WWI bolt version, but it's a fun round. Mine likes 28 gr. RL7.
I used to have a MVA Highwall in 30-40. Neat setup, it sure makes a nice cast boolit round and you sure have a nice rifle to shoot it in!
Just for S&Gs, I used to shoot it with #3118 and 5.0gr. Clays. Sounds like a 22 short and would dang near shoot into one hole at 50 yards.
