    An old Stevens and Colibris

I have a Rockwell carpenter's vise that has rubber jaws in it. I set it up today, clamped my old Stevens 15-A in it, zeroed it on a 1" square target paster at 25 ft. and ran 10 rounds of Aguila Colibris through it. An 80 year old single shot rifle and powderless 22s shoot way better than I can.

I shoot Colibris a lot but didn't know they were that accurate.

Wow, thanks for the info. Guess I need the take the old geezer out of the equation sometimes and use a similar set-up.

As always, I clean every gun after shooting. Before I run a session of shooting the Colibris, I run a ever so lightly oiled patch through the barrel. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I haven't had one stick yet. Besides, a light coat of oil can only help.

I shoot them in the fall to protect my Pecan crop in town, found them quite deadly at up to 30 yds. I always hit the tree rats in the head so I do not know if a body shot would be as effective. I have killed 100's and it is like I haven't killed a one can't tell the difference in number.

At 50 foot off hand the Colibri will do about that good from my target rifle with a tight bore and a full 24" barrel. I also found that they are NOT wimp loads as at 20 yards thye zip right through 1/2 plywood.

Now I only clean and oil the target gun AFTER I shoot Colibri and then I have to shoot it back in with good ammo, but I haven't ever had one stick in that gun.
