MiHec brass 4 cavity solid - 22 Nato
This is a sign-up thread for a second run of this design........ specifically a heavy cast boolit for the 5.56mm Nato fast twist rifles. This boolit is a gas check design made to fit AR mags. It will cast out at about 0.226" diameter. Ready to load weight is 64.8 gr. It has NOT fit some of the commercial 223 chambers we've tried it in, but it does fit the Wylde chamber, the CZ 527, the Ruger Mini-14 and the Browning A-bolt. Mihec is going to cut a four cavity mold on two cavity blocks much like BRP did on his 22 and 6mm molds for this.

Anyone know if this boolit fits in a Savage .223 chamber?

It depends on how your Savage is chambered. If it is a commercial .223 Remington chamber, it won't fit. If it is a 5.56 Nato chamber, it should fit. If it is a .223 Wylde chamber, it may or may not fit.

BTW.....my AR's are 1:9 twist. I'm presuming these are okay in that twist rate as well.

One of the first GB participants came to my house and shot my ammo in his gun, a 9 twist DPM AR 15..... about 1.15" or so at 100 yd. at about 2440 fps. We've shot better groups than that with 7 and 8 twists also.

About the same as whats already been posted. I've shot this boolit in 7, 8 and 9 twist barrels with very good results.

Also, what mold handles do Mihec molds use, and what about a top punch? Lee six cavity handles or you can order MiHecs handles with the mold. A top punch is included with the mold.
