MiHec 311241 brass solid
This is a sign-up thread for a copy of the old Lyman 311241 design........ specifically a plinker / small game boolit for the 30 caliber rifles. This boolit is a plain base design. It casts out slightly above 0.311" and as an option an additional diameter of 0.316" will be available. Ready to load weight is about 154 gr. dependent on your alloy.

Price is $95 + $15 shipping for a four cavity mold...price to be verified with MiHec

I have four different versions of this design....all Lyman. I picked the one that shot better than the others. The crimp groove version didn't shoot all that well.

you have two less than me. My 8 cavity Armory is crimp groove and shoots as good as any other.I doubt the groove has anything to do with accuracy though. i just thought I'd mention it as it is the original design.Kind of like later 308403'snot having the tapered base to the rear.Also some 311466's are fully cylindrical rather than the ft band diameter being smaller.I think the 311 diameter is a good version.

George, i'd be interested in samples from each mold along with what kind of mold it came from. Any way to do that? I shouldn't have said all Lyman as a couple are Ideal molds. The crimp groove version is a little smaller than 0.311" on mine and doesn't shoot well when seated and crimped to the groove.
