Lyman 311410~733 New Old Stock What did I buy???

O.k. took a punt on this mould out of curiosity .
Maybe good for light plinker loads for me single shot thuddy thuddy.

Any one got an idea of what I bought???
    can't find anything on it.

I will know when I get it.....I suppose...... but just curiosity has got the better of me.

    Any thoughts????

Does 733 stand for the punch ??? does it give a clue to the nose form.

    Cheers
    Barra

Go ahead and start patting yourself on the back. It's a great mold.

I couldn't get the picture to open, but the 733 is more than likely the block control numbers that Lyman used to keep the blocks together before the cavity was cut.

Incidently, I noticed the exchange rate is pretty favorable for you guys right now.

The picture shown in the link is an adjustable core mold for casting the cores for swaging your own jacketed bullets. I don't know how/why it's marked 311410 since that would be a ~130 grain boolit usually used for things like the .30 Carbine. You'll have to see what it casts at but somebody in the swaging section might be interested if you want to part with it.

I agree, looks like a core mold. Unless you swage it is useless IMO.

    it is a core mold.
i would be interested in it, for a 38 half jaxket swage set.
but the shipping would kill me.

Well it hasn't been sent yet!!!

    Don't need a core mold.
I was hoping it had a nose form.

I'll contacted the seller and asked if he could hold out posting it for a week.

    See what happens

If any of you's want it for real speak up.

Runfiverrun has first shot if he wants it.

I could try and drill a form in the nose and hence bugger it up properly !!!!

It is not what it is marked as. I would ask for a refund if possible.
