    Auction Score

Went to an auction a few weekends ago. It was an estate auction. I spent some time poking around until my foot hit this under a workbench...
About 225lbs of Lino plus some nice 50/50 bars. I couldn't back away from that pile fast enough. I tried to look uninterested when the auctioneer got to that lot. He opened at $150...I thought "I'm out". But no one twitched. Everyone turned to stone. I stood in disbelief as the opening price dropped down, down, down...People started to wander away. It got down to five bucks. A scrapper raised the first bid. I stepped up and looked him right in the eye. Every time he opened his mouth, I just said "yep"...he walked away at $17.00.

Made the rest of my week!

Oh my God, $17.00! Two bars of the 50/50 solder are worth that. This is the first time in my life that I have been really jealous.

Great score! It pays to know what you are bidding on, especially if nobody else does.

That's awesome!!! Are these auctions in southeast Wisconsin? If so, where?
If enough pressure is applied, it'll go

Just like that TV show, Storage Wars! Yuuuuuuuup! - Sold it your way for 17 dollars!

    Love that show.

You stole that lead my friend. I've had some good deals before, but nothing that good. I wish I had the time to go to local auctions.

I just got lucky and found a local auction in town. Nothing regular. It was the estate of an older gentleman that owned a bar in town.

Good score. I've been interested in going to estate auctions that have had indictations of potential lead finds, but can't afford wasting nearly a day waiting to see what comes up. Patience is a virtue, as is said...
