Pet loads for .32 H&R Magnum?

Hey guys. I just picked up a new Charter Arms Undercoverette in .32 H&R Magnum. I already have brass, 90 grain Hornady SWC's, and a Lee mold for the same type of boolit. Any favorite loads here? I have Accurate #2 and #5, Unique, Titegroup, and H110 on hand.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

My accuracy load that i settled on years ago,is 3.5 grs of win 231,,with the rcbs 98 swc.(make sure you verify this load in a manual!!!),,it only does 954 f.p.s. average, out of my ruger, but it shoots very small groups.I used to use a case full of h-4227,for 1100 f.p.s., but got tired of the bad muzzleblast, with that load,so now shoot the 231 load exclusively..

I have a Ruger birds head 4-5/8". I would have to go out to the shed to be sure but I think I shoot 3 gr of clays behind a 31108. Velocity is only 750 fps but it's extremely accurate and I can shoot it without ear plugs if I need too.
This guns pretty loud if I load it near its full potential. One of the deciding factors for me is it shoots exactly to the top of the front sight and it has plenty of power for anything I'll hunt with this gun.

Thanks, I wish Ruger would bring the .32 Single Six back. They really need to bring out a double action .32 as well. Guess I'll just have to be happy with my little Charter for now. I did fire it today, with some .32 Auto reloads that didn't work worth a poop in my Kel-Tec. The Charter sets 'em off reliably but is not accurate with them, probably due to the extra space in the chamber and somewhat undersize .32 Auto boolits.

The RCBS 98 SWC is the king-block of my best 32 Magnum loadings. Run this boolit between 700-1100 FPS with any powder and charge that will prompt those velocities, and the accuracy will be there. This has held true in a Ruger SSM and a S&W Model 16-4.
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

32 S+W Long brass, the Hornady swaged SWC and 3.0 Unique. 2.5 Bullseye works better.

Thanks for that info. I picked up this mold, just haven't cast any. I have two .32 H&Rs, one a S&W 4" J Frame and a Single SIx with a very long barrel. SO far, I haven't been real impressed by any of the other cast I've tried though some have done alright.

For magnum brass, 3.0 grains of tire-group under the RCBS 98 SWC or 2.6 grains of the same under a 3118 have provided excellent accuracy in my revolvers.

I shoot a lot more .32 long loads through my guns though, and in a strong (or chambered for magnum) revolver, 2.0 grains of titegroup under the 31133 (factory HP version of the 3118) are probably the best load for accuracy.

I use 2.5gr bullseye in the 100gr (or there abouts) boolits. When loading for young shooters trying sass I cast Lee 311-93-1R in a 6cavity mold loaded with 2.5gr bullseye there fast to cast and easy on my lead stash.

32 S&W Long brass. Lee 93-grain 1-R bullet, crimped in the outer lube groove.
2.5 grains of PROMO (Red dot equiv.) gave a very nice duplicate of a factory load.
2.5 grains of TITEGROUP gave a little hotter load that was really very accurate.
Due to market fluctuations I am no longer buying range scrap jackets.

Hmm, sounds like Titegroup delivers good results. I'll have to roll some tonight. Anyone have any defensive type loads for the .32 Magnum or Long they'd like to share?

I found #3118 over 5.5gr. AA#5 to work very well in my 16-4, Rugers, Contender, rifle, etc. That is pretty warm pressure wise and I wouldn't use them in a H&R but in strong guns it shoots lights out.

If you can get a copy of Handloader #122 (July-August 1986), Ken Waters has his Pet Loads article about the 32 H&R Magnum...

Thanks. I tried 4.3 grains Accurate #5 yesterday under the 90 grain SWC. Accurate and easy to shoot but only produces factory .32 S&W Long velocity, ~750 fps. I'll give Unique and Titegroup a swirl.

Thanks, I wish Ruger would bring the .32 Single Six back. They really need to bring out a double action .32 as well.

Ruger makes two double action .32s. The SP101 and GP100 in 327 Fed. Mag. as well as a full size blackhawk. 6, 7, and 8 shot, and they will shoot all of the 32 cartriges. I have them all, shoot them all, and love them all, as well as Smith and Taurus revolvers in the 327.
My wife uses a practice load of 2gr Bullseye and Hornady wad cutters. I also shoot 3.6gr of Bullseye behind a 100gr MO Bullet Co. cast with great results. My pet 327 load is the same 100gr cast in front of 13.4gr H110 with a CCI 550 primer. This 327 load puts down full size steel popper targets with every bit the umph of a full house 9mm!

I also agree that Ruger should bring out the single six in the 327 in a nice sleak gun sized for the round. The only thing the blackhawk has going is that it holds a pocket full of rounds! BTW I would love to see the 327 brought out in the LCR and Ruger for heavens sake put it in that 4 inch SP101 and it would be a perfect woods walking gun and so very flexable!

I think we will see all the .327's discontinued soon. As far as I know Taurus and S&W have discontinued theirs. Even though the .327 chamber can take the shorter rounds I think Ruger, or any other maker, would be better advised to design a gun ground up specifically for the .32 H&R round. The H&R still has a very loyal following and Ruger would be one of only a couple of makers who still produce guns in this round. An SP101 with a 3-4" tube and real adjustable sights would be sweet, in fact they produced this one for awhile in the 90's. I would also like to see an LCR with six shots and a shrouded hammer that could be manually cocked. Another wish list gun: a J-frame size snubby with six rounds of .32 Auto and a shorter cylinder, similar to Taurus' .380 revolver.

Nobade, how much does that 3118 boolit weigh?
