    New shoes for my 649

I finally got my Ahrends boot grips in today for my 649 in Bubinga. These not only feel alot better, but they look sharp. I just need to give the gun a good cleaning since I took off my Hogues.

Whatever cannot be remedied, must be endured.

    Ditto:
Actually that may be the best looking 649 I've ever seen.
Way the grips blend into the top and back clean up the lines nicely.
Plus the wood is fine. Especially for a laminate. Like how lines wrap around the finger groves.
    Or is that a laminate?

Not a laminate. Kim does make some fine grips and he's a great guy too.

Even more impressed now. Would take a keen eye to lay out the natural grain in a piece of wood like that.

I’ve always been one of those “jack of all trades master of none” types. In hind sight at age 57 that’s been a mistake. Tip my hat to a master grip maker.
