    Loving the new Star

Wow is all I can say.

Why didn't I get one of these sooner?????

After I got things figured out with the help of the guys here, and some dies and accessories from Lathesmith, I am just blown away by how much faster this thing is.

I load for 3 calibers in volume, and can see using it for all of these. Just sold one of my sizers, might have to sell another to help pay Lathesmith for some more dies.

    Thanks guys, for your help.

I saw the price of them and balked. I bought a Lyman 4500 instead. I quickly got tired of handling the bullet twice for sizing. I then bought a Star and thought the same as you, Wow! Why didn't I get one of these in the first place. I sold the Lyman and never looked back.

Put a bullet in and pull the handle. Repeat as neccesary until done. Enjoy.

    I started with a 4500 and could've been happier. I later purchased a Magma/Star because I like the nose-first/push-through concept.

My question is this - Where was the INTERNET when I bought my 450 about 35 years ago ?

Oh, WAIT. algore wasn't in politics yet.

I would have bought one of the STARs back then since I was young, single and foolish, not caring about money. I still have much of my good, expensive equipment from that era and do NOT regret any of those "above my head" purchases.
I'm glad I finally found out about AND FOUND a STAR, just like my recent acquisition - a non-functional BULLET MASTER, neat project that will allow me to enjoy my STAR even more.

Took mine to NJ once on a shooting trip. For room & board I cast a fellow shooter some Keiths. I set the Star up & began to size & lube the 44s. He couldn't believe it though he was standing there watching.

That's why I bit the bullet and ordered one last week! I have been using a RCBS LAM for 31 years. It has served faithfully, w/o a problem. But I now feel the need for speed! I also ordered the Heater and the shovel-handle. Lathesmith is making all the dies & punches
