I shoot blackpowder loads that I do myself. Most guys shoot lighter loads. The AA low recoil-low noise(featherlights) are very popular.
I have to shoot very light loads due to a replaced shoulder. They still knock the targets down. I use 30 grains of BP or 13 grains of Clays with 3/4 oz. of shot.
I shoot BP in magtech brass shells I load myself. I use about 60 grains of Goex FFg or some other BP/substitute behind 3/4 ounce of shot. I use 2 wads and a shot over card then seal with Bordon's wood glue.
3.1CC 2F goex in Mag tech Brass. 1 oz #9 shot. Knocks um all down.

I shoot 7/8oz shot with 17 grains of clays. Medium load I would say. I get about 25% more loads out of a bag of shot compared to 1 1/8oz. Best advice I can give is shoot what you like.
