I see that mine has moved down on BT's workorder list - says shipped on 12-4-13 (TODAY!). YES! It's gonna be a busy weekend...!

12 of these 22 cal orders completed and shipped this week. All should arrive by Saturday.

It's getting cold out there, remember..... these 22 cal point form dies work better when they are "warm" to the touch for those of you that might be swaging in a cold garage or shop. Review your instruction manual regarding use of the core seat die and point form dies. Let me know if any one has any questions.

I look forward to hearing first impressions and some range results. It's going to be time to have another postal shoot soon now that more of you have received your completed orders.

I read the bit about the dies working best after they're "warm". It's 36 degrees in Vegas at the moment, and these have been sitting in my (cold) mailbox while I slaved away at work... A little warmth is the only thing between me and some new .224 bullets at the moment.

Your welcome! Glad they arrived. At first glance your cores might be a little heavy. Looks like you got a little excess lead at the tip and the tip could close up a bit more for you. Still a success for first try! What weight are your finished bullets?

When I was working load development with the 6s ogive bullets with the same powder you have there I had good luck at 22.5 grains of H335 too. You might want to load a few up at 22.5 and 23.0 as well to see if you get some good groups too. It looks like the numbers you have there are some good loads to start with. 23ish and 25ish grains of H335 usually shot pretty well for me. Of course I was using a my gun, a Savage 223rem with a 26" 9 twist barrel.

Thanks, Brian! These weigh 55 grains, with a few outliers (not pictured) that range from 54.8 to 55.2. The jackets are Remington. My notes are at home, but IIRC, the jackets weigh 9.7 - 9.8.

I'll definitely make some 22.5 - 23 gr loads up as well, as well as adjust it down just a smidge to close up the point.
