I'll post the details shortly after I get them.
The one fact I have is that the minimum shipment is one carton at 20 kilos.

I still don't have pricing. The sales rep for for Frank B. Ross Co. hasn't written me. I left voice mail.

I have a sample coming from a Strahl & Pitsch. That sales rep told me it's one of the most expensive waxes. He's including two samples of substitutes as well. No pricing yet. He was interested in knowing what our intended use was.

It turns out Japan Wax is today, used largely in artist's pencils and lip sticks.

If a group buy gets going I would appreciate a PM. I probably won't find this thread easily! I will be interested for both lube and woodwork.

I have three samples. One of Japan Wax and two substitutes. No pricing though.
The samples are about 1/2 pound each.
It's currently too cold in Michigan to evaluate anything waxy. We've got our usual end of January weather in December.

So, who's in a warm enough area, with the ability (and other ingredients on hand) to mix some lube variations, shoot the bullets, and report back on how Japan Wax works as an ingredient? or pure lube?

I've got a hot wire cutter so I can cut these in to smaller samples for multiple testers.

To the OP: THIS link below may interest you. It's a treatise on some of the many ingredients used in boolit lubes from www.lasc.us One of the finest resources for cast boolit shooters/casters anywhere. Happens to be owned by one of the mebers on this forum, who I've got a tremendous amount of respect for. Enjoy and if you go to the home page, Glenn Fryxell's "Ingot to Target" is a MUST-READ as well.

This thread seems to have died on the vine and after Don got samples too. It would be interesting to see some results testing lube with Japan Wax, it was used quite a bit back in the day.

    Speaking from personal experience?

We now have an over sharing violation.

Seriously, there were many waxes and oils used in the past for lube. Were they any better or worse than what we use now or was it more a case of what was available? I think they used what they had and made the best of it.

But, it would be nice to know how good and what their characteristics are. I can see a hard wax ending the search (it could happen, as they used to say).
We need somebody/something to keep the government (cops and bureaucrats too) HONEST (by non government oversight).

Every "freedom" (latitude) given to government is a loophole in the rule of law. Every loophole in the rule of law is another hole in our freedom. When they even obey the law that is. Too often government seems to feel itself above the law.

We forgot to take out the trash in 2012, but 2016 was a charm! YESSS!
