    I don't know, I just tried the link and it didn't work either. Perhaps they have server problems. Before I didn't have any trouble following his links. All sorts of interesting info there.

    Your popup blocker may be interfering. I use Mozilla and the links work fine for me.

    The last sentence bothers me.
    What does how powder is lit have to do with how fast the charge in the barrel pushes a bullet?

    Dunno - maybe like mag primers vs. regular ones with smokeless powder? More complete or more aggressive burning?

    I tried again and now it works.

    One thing I know, BP burn rate is the same confined, or unconfined. Don't ask how I learned that long ago.
