    Coyote vs. H&R

I took this guy out Sunday Morning while he was putting a stalk on my guineas. One-shot at 132 yds. with my wifes 357 Maximum was all it took....

Heck of a shot with a reddot! I missed a woodchuck that was putting a stalk on my sweet corn this morning but we don't need to mention how close he was lol That sure does look like a sweet little rifle!

What loading are you using in your .243 handi?

I'm struggling with putting one together....

The "small" red dot setting on thyis particular sight is 1' at 100 yds. and makes for precise shooting out to about 175 yds...

The barrel on this gun is one that I made by "barrel stubbing"...

    camaro1st - nice shooting!

Awesome. Wish some of the local song dogs would show themselves around here, but they maintain a low profile in this area....

On my post above concerning the red dot, that was suppose to be 1" (one inch)...

TCTex - if you were referring to my load, it is as follows:

    CASE: Remington 357 Maximum...

    PRIMER: Remington 7 1/2...

    POWDER: Lil'Gun / 25.2 gr...

    BULLET: Remington 180 gr. JHP...

    VELOCITY: 2,232 fps...

WARNING: This load is completely safe in my gun, my barrel and my chambering. Your gun and barrel are completely different and any similar load should be worked up with caution, watching for signs of excessive pressure...

Thanks Assassin! That helps and I am writing your load down as a reference conformation…

I am currently shooting the 190 RD out of my 15.75 Contender chambered in 357 Max. I love that set up!

That's a nice little handy outfit. Did you do the barrel work yourself? Nice!

Thank you and yes, I did the barrel work myself as well as made that particular barrel blank. The barrel has a 1-14" twist and is .850" diameter. I am building two T/C Contender barrel with the last two barrel blanks I have left. Both will be chambered in 357 Maximum. What length would you guys suggest I finish them up at? Both barrels will be for sale once completed and if I can remember to, I'll post a picture of the completed barrels. The barrel stubs are blued and the barrel blanks are stainless....

If you stub another .357 max for a H&R I would be interested.

    Thanks

    Tutorial

By all means do a tutorial on stubbing a barrel. I've done one and am working on another as I get around to it and would be happy to contribute to the discussion.

Okay guys, I did manage to get a couple of pictures posted over on the gunsmithing section on my barrel stubbing and I'll try to post a couple more pictures of rifles I've built by barrel stubbing....
