    Any truth to it ??

A fella told me the other day that a Remington 597 chambered in twenty-two magnum was a rare rifle to have . He said something about a factory recall and that if a person sends one in for repair they'll keep the rifle and return a LR version to you .

I don't know if he was pullin' my chain , it just sounded a little fishy though I know they had problems getting them on the market .

    What's the real deal ??

Looks like your friend was confusing the 17 with the 22 Mag

Thanks very much , those pictures of the blown seventeen round doesn't look healthy at all .

I've been thinking of getting a twenty-two magnum . Being left handed my selection of rifles is limited . I'd like a repeater and so far I'm seeing Browning , Remington and Savage as something a lefty can use .

What is really to bad is the CZ brand of rifles I really like the looks of their bolt rifles but no left hand magnums .

I'm a lefty also. It certainly does limit our selection. I've been considering one of the AR 15 knockoffs. It looks like some of them would be suitable for lefties. I shoot 22 mag in My TC. Great for picking off Crows.

I know a lot of people like the contender style and even though I owned one once I don't care for them . I kept waiting for them to add more cartridge selections for the TCR83 rifles . They never got to what I would have liked so I never did get one .

I'm leaning toward the Savage 93GL , I've got a little experience with Savage rifles and other than the tupperware cheapo stock on the one I have it's fine . The 93 has a hardwood stock that should be fine .
