Difference between a cramer 36 and 36a?

Anyone knowledgeable about the difference between a Cramer 36 (RNGC 8mm mold) and the 36a?

Haven't cast with it (yet) so can't take calipers to it, but curious if anyone has experience with this particular mold.

I am looking at a copy of the 1940 Shooter's Bible(reprint) and it shows a page of the Cramer bullest (pg 335) and the #36 that it shows look like it is not GC. From looking at the list of bullets there is little coralation(???is that how its spelled) between a number of a bullet and the same number plus A except they are the same cal.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to Cramer's letter suffixes. A 6 bears almost no relationship to a 6A, save that they are both .429 boolits, but even that doesn't hold consistently, an 8 is a .431 SWC, an 8A is .429 RN and an 8B is for the 405 Winchester. The 3 boolits bear no resemblance to one another.
