    22 insert for 38-50

HI I don't post much but I thought you might be interested in this insert I made for my new 38-50 Rem Hepburn. It took me 2 years to make the rifle. I got it shooting and I planed on using it at Alliance this May shoot but my wife became ill and so I had to make other plans. So I looked up to see if anybody made a 22 insert for a 375 cal.bpcr.
I couldn't fine any so that got me to thinking how to do it. I found that Mid Way has barrel liners and they have one that's 5/16 in dia. for under $40. so heres is what I came up with and how it's shooting.

Don't pick on me for the finish on the brass this was a test not an end product .

Good job. Is the .22 chamber offset to one side of the brass ? What kind of reamer did you use on the liner? THANKS LB

    re, 22 insert

no offset is used with the hepburn action I drop the block about 1/8" and the firing pin hits at the 6 oclock on the rim. no reamer was used, I single point bored the chamber and the rim, I forgot to post the pic.

    Cool Gerald,

Should do great with the 340-360 gr bullets.

Wont make the fall shoot, just too many other matches, Cody end of the Month the NRC stuff I can't-won't miss that, slug guns, 22's and Centerfire BP. Too much Fun.

Raton twice this year, Jimbo's match, and Shiloh Shoot and Phoenix in Nov. some things are just too good to miss.

I probably won't make the fall match either. To close to Ratonand the warm up match at Byers, and other things I want to get done. I'm also hearing rumblings of a neices wedding about then.....
