I have a Ruger Compact magnum in 308, very similar to the GS, except in appearance of course. Lyman 311672 working well in it. I use SR4759.

I have been wondering if changing the trigger guard out and installing the GS part with the mag well box would be do-able.

The RGS uses a single row magazine, so the feed lips are in the magazine and not the action. I suppose you could open the rails in the action, but there would be no going back.

    Ecess650 - I am confused.

Trim to length is 2.005. Now I am not going to nit pic over 0.005. I actually started to trim mine to 2.009 (that was the last change and I have a habit of sometimes making too large of an adjustment).

Guess I need to go back and reset my trimmer and start over.

I was going to hold off on my GS Scout project until I finished my 30/30 project. Well - someone on this board made Christmas in May as I received 5 different boolits to try - none of them are custrom all are cataloged items.

So - the wife and I are taking a trip this week and I will start when I get back.

    Reporting findings here.

Just put up 200 lbs of alloy. I had about 600 lbs of WW I had to smelt down - wife didn't like the 'looks of them sitting next to my casting shed' - So I melted them down and then took one full pot of WW and added 1 % of lead free solder to it.

Really that is one mess I am glad is cleaned up. Still have to put away the smelting stuff - everything is just too hot to handle.

Son is talking the wife and I to a lunch for Mothers day - I will put the stuff away after we get back.

I need more time to play and less work time!!!!!

excess650, keep us posted on your results with the Lee C-312-155-2R. I'm working up a load for 300 blk with this boolit right now and the RGS is next with it.
