    Paper Patching

Anyone wanting to try paper patching fo a 45-70 should try the Lyman 451114. This bullet is just about perfect for patching as it comes from the mould. No need to reduce it, just give it 2 wraps of 16# copy paper, smear a little lube on it and run it through a .459 Lee sizer. Pure lead makes a great deer slug and #2 alloy is perfect for anything larger. I load it over 51gr of AA2495 with a CCI 200 primer. Best load I have found for my Marlin 1895G yet!

Thanks for the tip. I will look out for that mold as I would love to try PP in my #1.

Got mine from Buffalo Bullets. Ordered on line and no complaints about them at all. Give them a try, they seem to be good people!
