I've had my Savage 210F since 1998 . Also have a Savage 220 that I got before they actually hit the market maybe 4 years now .

I also did the Browning A-Bolt thing back about 2000 or 2001 and found accuracy to be no better then the Savage 210 F . So someone wanted the Browning more then I did and I made some Benjamin's .

Over the years I've used a number of slugs in the 210F all factory loaded of course . Originally I killed with the Federal 2 3/4" with the Barnes Expander slug and it did very well . A couple years after that Winchester brought out the Parition Gold and I used that in the 2 3/4" version , as a matter of fact I used that slug in 2005 to kill the 6 point Sika Stag in my avatar . Now I believe Winchester no longer makes the Partiton Gold anyway I'm perfectly satisfied with the accuracy and velocity I get from the REM 2 3/4" AccuTip as well as the WIN XP3 . And I shoot those two in the Savage 210F .

As to the Savage 220 I tried everything that was available when I got the gun and pretty quickly settles on the REM 2 3/4" AccuTip in that one as well .

Hornady SST's sometimes shot well in both and sometimes didn't . Dunno if it was the shooter (me) or perhaps a different lot number of ammo .

Suffice to say I now just buy Remington 2 3/4" AccuTips for both gauges and occaasionally the WIN XP3 .

While your whole thread is intresting I cannot imagine the amount of funds you've used in this undertaking !
Usually folks that reload shotgun slugs are trying to beat the cost of factory ammo and from the looks of things you could have purchased SEVERAL cases of whatever sabot slug your guns prefferred and still had money left over from what you've spent in this undertaking .

By all means have fun with your project , but be safe .

For me factory is plenty in the 12 , 16 ( have several drillings I shoot slugs in )and 20 gauge guns . The only one I'm semi intrested in loading a slug for at the moment would be my old 2 7/8" 10 gauge guns .
Parker's , 6.5mm's and my family in the Philippines

Your cheapest option is Lee Drive Key slug mold for $18 from MidSouth, others will sell you the same mold for $23 or 26!
Your next best choice is .678 Round ball mold.
The third best tho expensive is Lyman 525 slug mold around $85 to 90 with handles.

All the above three choices are shown here in this picture

Look carefully and you will notice a nitro card below each, to give it a firm base.
The wad that we choose is Trap Commander from BPI, you need the nitro card below also to help raise the slug above the petals this way when push comes to shove, its the bullet that pushes against the fold crimp to bulge open the crimp without the petals getting mangled in the process!

If you load a low recoil slug and do not use the nitro card then the bottom of the wad pushes into the base cavity of the slug like this, no harm done!

You can even put two nitro cards below Lee Drive Key slug for faster loads and try them for yourself

The loading data that comes with Lee slug is quite hot in some cases, watch-out!
Blue Dot, Herco and HS-6 is Hot

with Herco first try 31, 31.5 and 32 gr, with HS-6 try 31, 31.5 and 32 as most find it quite good
and Blue Dot try 40, 40.5, 41, 41.5 and 42 should give you good hunting load and save you from visiting your dentist!
The loads I mentioned are for 1 Oz Lee slug in 12 Ga!
Please note the H.Universal is a clean burning powder and keeps amazing me from time to time with very good results!

The Lyman 525 slug will extend your range by another 30 to 40 yards, a bit expensive but worth every penny!
Here is the loading data that comes with the mold:

Your choices are endless at this point:

The Lee mold is cheap, alter the design or even the base pin and creat your own home cooked slug

Have fun while you are at it and enjoy the hobby.
You all have a wonderful day and happy hunting!

Thank you for the outstanding graphics. Unequaled information, as no one has ever taken the time to visualize so much good information. The wad/sabot fitment photos are so very useful. Saves anyone interested a bunch of time and money. My favorite is the powder-hull "load-line" as again, the visualization and comparison is so useful. Thank you for all you are doing.

Wow - work late for a couple days and I just looked at the best news I've seen in a long, long time. A real sabot. Sign me up. Count me in. I want some. You were right, some fantastic news. Brother Ajay, you the man. What is the caliber for the sabot? .50" .58" or something else. 12 gauge and 20 gauge? I'll even buy a 20 just to use it.
