    Since he hasn't ordered the cherry yet, it could be configured so it could also be used as a normal base pour mold so a HP could be had. If I can get an answer from him in a timely matter, a solid or HP flatbase could be added to this GB.

    I'm thinking I'd prefer the solid/hp options. Would like to see a copy of the original 45/70 Trapdoor 400 grainer with a hollow base, but for my #3–what I'm thinking I'll shoot this one with–I don't see it's utility.

    A .462 diameter would be perferct for great grandady's 1873 springfield that i inherited. However would it also work in a marlin lever action ? I already have 9 45-70 bullet moulds and i need an excuse to get this one also. TOM

    This was a BRP project at one time. Several people got it for the Marlin rifles and it does fine. Some of the newer (less than three years old) Marlin 45-70 take a 0.460" boolit and no larger. The older ones made by Marlin (not Remlins) usually take a 0.462" boolit. Measure your chamber and throat to be sure as both sizes are offered.
