    Ruger 44 Special Flattop Question

I have been out of the shooting picture for a while because of an injury and missed out on the Lipseys 44 Special. Just didn't see it when it came out. How does the one Ruger is making now compare. I see lots of great reviews on the one Lipseys ordered but not much on the new one.

    Thanks, Swamprat

I can not comment on the regular 44 flattop blackhawks, but I did get one of the Lipsey's specials with 5-1/2" barrel. It is very accurate and Ruger did a good job on getting the cylinder throats at the right Dia. to match the barrel groove dia. My throats were .4315 and the barrel groove dia. was .430. Cast bullets sized at .431 work very well for accuracy.

From what I've been told, the Lipsey's run has become standard catalog items. And, I'd agree that it seems that way. The specs and dimensions are very good on a Ruger Blackhawk in 44 Special.

<<<<That one, it's superbly accurate and easy to load for! And yes, I'm in love with it. You should get one, even brand new they shoot very good. Best right out of the box purchase I've ever made!

    Good Luck,
    Ron

I have one of the second run of Ruger Blackhawk Bisley's. in .44 Special.

    Great gun!

Ditto Canyon Ghost' s comments. You should buy one.

I have one of the Lipseys and all dimensions are correct in relation to each other. 430 barrel and 432 throats. My only problem was my 429-421 dropped boolits at .429/430 so I had to beagle it.

I believe Ruger was showing them as a catalog item before Lipseys ran out or very shortly thereafter. I guess Ruger saw there was a market for these great guns.
