What's your BP load combo for 12g cartridge 1oz target loads, trap and skeet?

68.5grs (2.5 drams) FFFg powder and 1 oz of shot gives you a "square" load based on the old time loading ratios

I haven't loaded 1oz loads, but that should fit in a 2-3/4" case with fold crimp.

I load powder, 1/8" nitro card, 1/8" grease cookie, over shot card, paper shotcup formed from brown paper bag, shot, over shot card, and crimp closed.

My load is acutally 85gr fffg(volume) with 1-1/4oz shot and doesn't make a perfect crimp with WW AA cases, but the over shot card keeps the shot in the case, and the patterns were excellent to 35 yards.

I chose to use a grease cookie in case I was firing lots of rounds.

BP is normally loaded by volume rather than weight due to differences in density from brand to brand. Too, fffg is used in the case of weaker powder and ffg or larger in the case of stronger powders. Patterning will tell the story of your loads in your shotgun.
