    unusual 8mm Mauser case headstamp "G.F. 8mm"

I just picked up some unusual new 8mm Mauser rifle brass cases. The headstamp is
"G.F. 8MM". They are new boxer primed with copper colored primers with red primer sealant visible. The primers are not military crimped in. I couldn't find any references on the internet. Has anyone seen this brass before? I think it is of European origin. The Seller said it came out of the XPLO company in Plattsburgh, NY when it closed around 20 years ago. Any info would be helpful. Thank You , Pan957

I thought it was for 'goes fast'!

It's actually as mentioned above. G. Egestorff from Germany.

I thought it might be Fiocchi too but now I'm not sure. I have a box of Fiocchi 38 S&W but it's stamp is G.F.L. 38 S&W.

the red primer lacquer probably means they are corrosive primers. if you use them, use a hot water bath afterwards, immediately. don't depend on bore cleaners and oil. put the end of the barrel in the hot water and run a patched rod up and down. the heat will dry the barrel and then oil it.

three patches of Windex with vinegar will get all corrosive primer residue. Follow with a
couple of Hoppe's #9 and you are done. Also wipe the bolt face, primer pockets leak.

    Boiling water is WAY unnecessary.

If it was easy, anybody could do it.

    Those cases are not Fiocchi.

The red lacquer on the primer is simply a sealant. To this day S&B uses red and green sealants on their primers and they are most certainly not corrosive. Those cases may have corrosive primers if fairly old.

Cleanup is easy enough that I'd use those cases. (If you don't want to use them I'll take them off your hands )
