    20ga slug question

Hi all, I'm planning on loading 20ga slugs, SPW wads in cheddie hulls 2 3/4, with a cheddie 209 primer, I would like to use WSF powder since i have so much of it, any load info would be great. thanks. Oh yes I'm loading a .44cal 255gr hand cast bullet in the sabot. thanks again

Hodgdon does list 7/8-oz. lead bird shot load data for Winchester AA and Remington STS type 2-3/4" hulls using WSF powder. All the charges are between 16.5 and 17.5 grains with multiple primers and wads listed.

7/8-oz. is approximately 383-grains. So based on that you could probably safely start out with about 18 grains of powder and work it up a little. You should probably be able to safely get up to 20+ grains. I would work slow in single grain increments in a heavily built strong single shot break action type gun using it as a test platform (think 20ga. NEF-USH) until I got sticky extraction (that is the first pressure sign you will usually get with the type of hulls you are using) and then back off a grain or two and call it good.

Can't help you more then that since I've only worked with WSF powder for slug loads in the larger 12ga.
