    Am in need ...

of about 40 paperpatched and sized bullets. Sized to .309

The project, attempting to clean a bore ala the CBA article way.

The firearm? An 1899 Remington Lee. ex Michigan State Militia (un-bubba'd). Chambered in 30 US (aka 30-40).

    The reason?

As I'm recently back ftom the mideast, all my casting equipement and sizing stuff is locked away (until at least 15 May).

Desired weight: Close to 200 grains, velocity will be in the 1800-2000 fps zone.

    Will pay.

    Thanks

Is there a particular shape to these boolits you need? I'd guess they need to be tapered at the fore-shank and larger at the seating shank. .309 for a groove size sounds a little small for a 30 US. Those would fit a 308 with a tight bore. Just the fact that it needs cleaning makes it sound like it'll be a little over size. More like .310 requiring .312 base shank boolits or something. Could you give us the size of the fired case mouth ID?

First, welcome back & thank you. 303 Guy is right, if you can give us either the fired case ID or the specs from a bbl slug we can help match a boolit to your bbl.

Most older Krags have a big throat, I know mine does.

    Guys,

The ID on the fired cases comes out at .306 and .308. All 7 fired cases I have were one or the other. A lead slug from the bore came out at .305 across the grooves. Yes I repeated it.

The rifle is not a Krag, but a Remington Lee.

    Thanks

Ran across this old thread and decided to 'close it out'. Thank you all for the offers on those bullets. Unfortunately the original had 3 longitudinal splits down the length of the barrel and 'flexed' open each time it was fired. I decided to have it rebarreled and now have no issues with a rough bore. Yes if I sell it the original barrel will go with it.

    Thanks all.
