When did Winchester quit stamping .30 WCF on barrells and go to .30-30 ?
And where do they hide the serial numbers on older ones ?

The .30 WCF stamping stopped about 1950. The serial numbers are stamped on the underside of the receiver.
Others confirm the early 50's end of the use of WCF. This one has been reblued along the way and the serial number location was polished WAY too much. Barrel markings I'm told are 1920's. It shoots, even though any collector value is long gone !
Ammunition bearing the 30 W.C.F. headstamp was last produced in 1946.
