    Pan Lubing and sizing

So if I pan lube do you size before lubing? I was thinking if I lubed then ran through the lee sizer it would create nice clean bullets with the groves nicely filled with lube. I have been using tumble lube for my first few batches and want to get rid of the smoke.

It does clean up the boolits. What recipe will you use for less smoke?

I usually pan lube THEN size.

Ben I did read that one and will be making a punch for sure. I cast only 45acp right now so I need to find a suitable case or tube to use.
I plan on making a batch of the Ben's red to start with.
BTW thanks for all you do here Ben!!

    You're very welcome.

You can use a fired .45 Long Colt case to remove your bullets from the lube ( making a Kake Cutter like the one you see in my threads ).

I have a 454 casull that fits over a sized boolit but is a little tight so I will figure out how to stretch it out a bit. I will make a plunger for it today.

I lube then size my plain based bullets. If I use gas checks I install them before lubing and "size" again to clean up the extra lube from the bullet...

I have everything I need except the beeswax which comes on the big brown truck tomorrow. Local craft store wanted $17.99 lb for beeswax and I am not paying that kind of money for it. I need to cast some boolits in the next few days. I took a few new shooters out over the last few weeks and they shot up all my 45 ammo. It's worth it though because I think I have put two more shooters in the fold. As usual they can't get enough of it. Lol
