Target turrets for scopes - w/pics

I have an old Weaver K3 scope that I would like to put target turrets on. Does anyone have any experience with this? I see that Stoney Point makes a set for the Leopold but do not know if the threads on a Leopold and a Weaver are the same.

I also noticed that Weaver makes a T-36(?) scope that comes with the target turrets on them and wonder if they would transfer to the older K3.

Thanks for any and all assistance -

    Be well,
    Steve

If the scope is an old El Paso made Weaver it is unlikely you will find anything for it, including repair.
The Stoney Point turrets are not a very good option anyway. I have a couple sets of these. the turret turns on the threads for the cap but the adjustment ring is not engaged in the slot all the time. I put on o-ring on the adjustment stem to keep the adjustment ring engaged in the slot but then the ring can turn the adjustment if it is bumped or slid when set down. No way to lock it in position.
From what I was told when I called the manufacturer these are going to be discontinued.

A better option would be to buy a different scope with target turrets on it.

I like the BDC type reticle on the crosshair for hunting as it it much faster and easier to use in the field. I have a Leupold with their version called LRD (long range dots) and a Burris with the BDC dots.
If you have the funds Leupold will make a custon turret for some of their scopes. you have to send the scope and the load information you are using and they make the turret and mark it for that load.

I bought a vortex Crossfire mil-dot scope with target turrets from SWFA for $100. Not a high end scope but it works great on my 6PPC Encore pistol barrel. settings seem to be repeatable.

Yes - it's an old one - I think I will just go ahead and make some for it. I can do that simply enough.

The reason I wanted them was I am installing it on an 1944 Lee-Enfield (T) rifle. Original scopes run several thousands of dollars, if you could find one, and I'll be using the rifle in WW-II events. So the more original it "looks" the better.

Not trying to say it's an original just wanting it to look more so.

And I do love the old scopes. I've got a K10 on my 220 Swift and it is deadly even out to 3-400 yards shooting ground squirrels.

    Thanks for the response -

The turrets off of an old El Paso T-series scope may work! ??

    MORE Gerry Gun Porn.

    Shameless exhibitionist......
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

According to Weaver those won't work - so what I did was take the turrets off a Bushnell scope I had, did a little machine work, and they came out pretty nice I think. Once I finish them up I'll post a pic of the scope as modified.

The Bushy was broken in a fall I took a couple of years ago up in the hills chasing rock chucks around - whole nother story.
    God Bless you
