    32/20 Marlin 1894 Ducks Unlimited

A dealer who imports mint leverguns into Australia has one of these NIB.

It is expensive, but hardly any these ever came to Australia.

Anybody had any experience with them?

I would prefer a 25/20 and a full length mag,,,,, but they aren't made test way it seems.

I do not have experience with that limited edition. I do have a Marlin in 32-20 that has always been reliable and very accurate. The chamber seems a bit oversize but it really hasn't affected function. I don't know if brass life is limited as a result, but it isn't a big issue.

Probably need to ream the cylinder until you end up with a K 32WCF, lol as in K Hornet. Probably a bit more of a taper to assist feeding.

I have two old 1892 Winchesters and a Savage bolt rifle (model 23 I think it is), but fancy using a low powered scope. The theory is that selling the above guns will finance the Marlin. Welllllllllllllllllll, thats the theory anyways! I have a pair of old Weavers in 2.5 and 3x, one of which will sit well on this rifle. The other will probably be put on my 44Mag, which is also an 1894.

Big thunderstorm just come up, gotta go!

I have a Marlin 1894CL purchased when reintroduced in the late 1980s. Mine wears a Redfield receiver sight and won't leave my possession any time soon. Marlin also made these in 25-20 and 218 Bee.

Yes, the first ones made with the ballard rifling. Those shoot very well. Try the Lyman 311008 with SR4759.

I think he meant that the rifling was without pitting type smooth.

Hello Four Fingers, did you buy the rifle? If so, how did you like it?

Nope, it was just a little too much money. Twice what a new 357 would have been.

    4fingers,
I too have a CL in .32-20. It is fed a 105 grain cast bullet from Accurate moulds. I get about 2 inches at 100 yards with 9 1/2 to 10 grain 24oo. It dumped a 130 yard coyote with authority and numerous porcupines at close range. The gun is my favorite sharing that title with an 1895 Winchester in .30-40. The one I take depends upon what may need killing.

The one I bought had the same chamber problem that ouchHot has marlin wouldn't fix it and I haven't taken the chance with a new marlin since then . It probably would be a nice system with a scope but given iron sights the '92 rifles sound nice . I had a model 23 Savage too and enjoyed it bad thing is I traded it in to get the Marlin .

    Jack
Buy it cheap and stack it deep , you may need it !
