I like the idea of using "Guard Rails" for the trailer!

Which highway did you take the guardrails from? You think B.C. Dept of Highways (Holidays) will notice the missing sections?

my trailer weighed 260 lbs as in the pic. now i guesstimate 290 lbs.
i ripped some halfmoon of the guardrails and added 2 pieces to make the trailer wider
as this quad is wider. i pull this with my toyota echo.

Does that PVC pipe actually work for a gas can? how much does it hold?

yes it hold gas real good. this is made from ABS pipe, painted with krylon plastic paint.
this krylon paint for plactic realy sticks good to plastic, however gasoline disolves it
instantly. i painted it white keep it cooler in the sun. every thing is gluled together
with abs glue of course. the fill/poor fitting is 1 1/2 drain fitting that i machined the threads off cut the excess of so it,s flush with the inside of the cap. i had to dremel
the inside a bit for the pouring spout. that pour spout is a must for this as u turnit upside down and nothing comes out until u push down on the side catch. the sealing disc i made from galvanised sheet metal.

i can,t justify the price they want for these flat quad gas cans so plan B. the small
wedco oil drain can is 7 liters and and the large one is 12 liters. the large one has
the recess in the middle on both sides and it looks fused. i think u could drill a hole and
it would not leak and u could mount it with a center bolt. the pour spout in this pic
fits the quart cans and u remove the white adapter and it fits the gal cans and these
wedco oil cans. it has a twist shutoff . up here the small can is $10 and the large is
    $15.

So if the quad is up on the car trailer, does the quad trailer ride along as the caboose?

Somehow I missed this thread. I always enjoy seeing your projects. I think you are pretty well equipped to take on the world.

thanks. i got this one in december. traded my kubota tractor with my neighbor.
i,ve been out 4 times in the snow. what a hoot. here are some more mods, a cmera
and binocular box on the side of my powersaw gas and oil box. the camera is kodak
waterproof and dust proof. the binos are tasco compact 8x20. i added a paint can holder for trail marking. i traded my neighbor for a cell phone signal booster which
will go on soon. today i took the snake eyes front pistol grip of my 12 gage defender. to bulky for the quad. i,m makeing snakes eyes laser for the top instead.
notice the snug fit loops that goes in the gas can handles. that stops all play

update on my quad. i added a foxhole shovel holder, a mossy 12 gauge defender
waterproof scabard, a disc harrow, and almost done rototiller. now all i need is a blond
wife with a hunngarian accent, a pig called arnold , and i could this place green acares.
i also installed a 12 volt coffee cup in my front box for hot beans and soup.
