Can't speak for the subcompact but my full size has digested everything I have put thru it which includes RCBS 09-124TC and 356402 both at .357 over Red Dot.

I had a sub compact XD 40. Absolute reliability. Excellent weapon all around. I could not see why they would have trouble with cast. Of course, I was not casting for that 40.

Got one and it feeds great. Size .358 and shoot, essentially no leading,

My wife had the XD-9 subcompact for several years but had trouble getting the small groups she was interested in achieving. I finally had her try my 5 inch 40 caliber and she was amazed at how well she shot. She traded the XD-9 for a full size XDM-9 and is very happy with her ability to shoot small groups.

I have an XD 9mm sc. It shoots cast just fine. I run rounds through the sizing ring of a 38 spcl. LFC die and have no problems with them.

I have a sub compact as well. I run cast thru it but I notice the formidable recoil spring chews the rounds pretty good during feeding.
