    Cast a Few Today

I cast a bunch of these bullets today. The molds are old Ideal molds probably from the 1950s as is the Lyman Model 61 casting pot. The bullet on the left is a #429421 (.44 Magnum or Special) and the one on the right is a #454190 (original 1870s design for the .45 Colt.)

I just use scrap lead. These are wheel weights with some high tin solder added.

I use both of the bullets you show & they are great. Enjoy them.

    Yep,

Been loading what I have. Casting in April, maybe a bit earlier if winter breaks.

Nice, I used to shoot a ton of the 454190's you cast back in the late 80's sized to 452 for a 1911 & bowling pins. Used the 429421 bullet for the same thing in a model 29 for the revolver class.

You cast some great looking bullets that bring back some good memories.

Nice looking bullets! Good for you.

Funny you mention that wife just me make here a plaid of earrings out if Lyman 429374 mold. I was kinda bummed to give up the nickel brass but she was quite happy with the end result!!
