Has anyone experimented with minies in the .54 Lyman Great Plains Hunter?
Has anyone experimented with minies in the .54 Lyman Great Plains Hunter?
Why would you want to?
1 in 60 inch twist is great for round balls, 220 grain ball is great for whatever it hits and its trajectory is lower than a minie.
What could be better??

Caution Notice on powder container - "Be certain no embers are smoldering in the barrel before reloading" - SO I ALWAYS BLOW DOWN THE BARREL AFTER FIRING! Its easier than wet swabbing.

The GPH is faster twist than the GPR. I would like to know if anyone has tried minies in one and what their results may have been.

The bigger question of why it would be a good idea to use a minie belongs to another thread and probably has LOTS in the archive.
