    30-06 loads w/ SR 4759

Anybody shooting this powder in an 06 from a 03-A3? I tried it early on with no luck, thought I would revisit it and try again. I'm using either a 311291 or a RCBS 180 SP with very good results over 2400. How about a velocity range that it works better at? Not really looking to break any velocity records but looking to find it's "sweet" spot.

    Thanks, Longone

    311291/23.5 gr 4759.....1835fps avg

    NOE 311 180Gr. FN (K31) /23 gr 4759...1822fps avg

Start out @22gr/4759 boolits are sized .001-.002 over groove diameter. In my testing (03 & 03A3) NOE shot more better than 311291, although 311291 very accurate.

With the 311291 and Lyman's recommended load of 22 grains, it shoots very well in my 1903A3 and Model 70. If I recall, velocity was supposed to be between 1700 and 1800 FPS.

I use 18 grains in an 06 under 180 NEI and 190 Saeco bullets and get sterling accuracy. I don't have my notebook in front of me so I don't know velocities, but as I recall they were in the 1400-1500fps range. Very pleasant to shoot, very accurate, but too light for deer hunting IMO. (I did kill a deer with that load many years ago, but it did take a follow up shot to finish the job.)

I use 19grs behind the Lyman 311041, about 175grs. Will shoot about 3" to 4" on a good day at 200 yards.
