In a perfect world, we'd have Lee engineering with Dillon quality/warranty and all sold at Hornady or RCBS prices.
Loving good tools is a must but I must say it is like the song says... you have to love the one your with. I enjoy and appreciate good older equipment, I have some pretty old tools. Including some hand tools that my father used when we worked on project when I was a little kid, and a my first power tool which is a K-Mart 1/4 inch chuck drill, I still use it for drilling pilot holes when driving screws.
I have fun with and enjoy the equipment on my bench, a couple are older C presses, but the Lee turret and hoped for Lee Classic O press are probably going to be the stars and the row of round red boxes with disks and dies bring a smile to my face when I look at the reloading bench. Would Redding dies, or Dillon press be better? Don't know, don't care, not going to make me smile any bigger.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.
Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Same with motorbike/car forums, there will always be an ongoing oil thread! Every time someone new joins they inevitably ask "which is the best oil?" and it starts all over again.
In this case it's "which is the best press?".

After 3 heart attacks I'm just thankful to still be alive to enjoy this and it makes no difference which tools I'm using!!!!!
Some people just like to ***** to be heard, others don't sweat the small stuff.
Now I'm going to go do what's really important and load some for this weekend.
Anyone know which is the best press to buy
Might take a look at this one. It's solid, good performance, may have somewhat pricy shipping costs. http://www.stevensmachine.com/used/w...Mech-OBI-1.jpg Can easily full length size most common brass or be used for swaging.

not sure that is big enuff for my needs
'What are you loading?
I use either CH4D Champion (the only cast steel press in my collection), Hornady Iron (resembles the old Bonanza 68 press), Forster COAX, RCBS Summit or Redding Ultramag. I do have a cast steel Hollywood Senior with 8 LNL stations and a Hollywood Universal 12 station turret.
I don't think there is a best press out there. It depends on features and your wallet.
take care

Im Just BS,ing , I been reading some of the old post today , and thought I would be quite
RCBS' engineering has never impressed me. Their quality has, but as far as innovation goes, RCBS engineering is to reloading what the rotary dial telephone is to modern telecommunications.
Richard and John Lee's innovative engineering is the Apple of reloading. Unfortunately, their QC and choice of materials in many of their products is what has resulted in the negative perceptions and experiences many folks have had.
That's why the only thing I lil about lee is price.
Rcbs may be no frills, but its solid background tech, lil those pulse dial phones you disdain.
