Case feeding 223 on Lee Loadmaster

I have recently started to reload 223 on my loadmaster and I cannot seem to get the cases to feed consistently. I went back and reread the set up manual and I am using the correct feeder and case slider. Does anyone have any advise? It will feed one or two and then drop 5 all over my bench. I have heard from some that it feed pistol really well but not rifle. I have zero issues with it feeding pistol. Any input is appreciated!

I could get 38s to run thru mine, but 357s would fall over. 45s I could get to run too. I got tired of adjusting the case feeder, so I took it off. And dont miss it.

Now caliber change is 3 minutes not 25.

Its pretty quick to hold a boolit while running the lever, set the boolit, let go grab a case wigh the right, insert, grab a boolit with the left, run the lever. Not quite as fast, but no frustration either.

I plan to run 223 this way too, one day.

I believe that I have my issue figured out. The diameter of the feeder was much larger than the 223 casing. It wobbled around a lot while the case pusher mowed back and forth. I made a reducer similar to the case feeder for small pistol but shorter to allow the case to clear.

That's also the problem I had feeding .223 in the new APP press. The fix was reducing the tube size at the bottom as you did, and removing the bevel in the top of the shuttle so the cases were less likely to fall at an angle......and it helped to graphite the top of the shuttle too.

Don't know how any of that compares with the Loadmaster.....but such might give you some things to think about. Good luck.

Size/Prime a few cases when starting off with a progressive and put them aside. You can plug them back into the process when a bad/odd case screws up in the priming station and continue loading.

Here are the pushers I have. They are about 8 years old, but they appear to be very similar.
